Attero’s new turbine unveiled by Dutch prime minister at Moerdijk energy-from-waste facility

Waste management firm Attero has opened a new 120MW turbine at its Moerdijk energy-from-waste facility.

The c.€100m steam turbine can produce enough electricity in one hour to power a household for 25 years and is integrated with Attero’s existing energy-from-waste facility in Moerdijk.

Excess heat from the waste incineration process is used to produce steam and drive the turbine, creating an environmentally friendly and renewable source of electricity.

Sale of this electricity will generate material additional revenue for the company and represents delivery of a key strategic initiative.
